Supervisor

Location: Jersey

Salary:

PURPOSE
  • Normally responsible for the supervision of a Client Relationship Team and/or a complex portfolio of clients.
  • Responsible for all aspects of administration and client service for the clients assigned to the incumbent or team.
  • Personally responsible for the day to day administration of a portfolio of complex structures.
  • Responsible for identifying cross-selling opportunities from the existing client base.
  • Responsible for the management and development of the staff within the team/group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Service and Relationships
  • Ensure that all administration and client service issues are attended to in accordance with the department service standards and company procedure manual(s) in force at any given time.
  • Attendance at meetings with clients and/or their advisers and the development of relationships with them.
  • Deal with all correspondence and client queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Identify and utilise opportunities to cross sell bank services to clients and their advisers.
  • Ensure that reports to clients relating to his/her portfolio of trusts and companies are prepared in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with agreed requirements..
  • Responsible for providing any other relevant information to the clients and/or their advisers or to third parties at the request of the client.
Trust Administration
  • Analysis of client requests with reference to the Manager/Director where appropriate on technical or legal matters.
  • Ensure that all corporate policies and regulatory frameworks are adhered to at any given time
  • Responsible for the efficient day to day management of all the client’s affairs in accordance with the terms of the appointment including the maintenance of all relevant Trust/Company records for the cases held.
  • Maintenance of statutory returns required in connection with companies within the client portfolio.
  • Complete tasks that arise as a result of the Director undertaking client reviews and other internal control routines in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Good understanding of tax issues.
Financial Results
  • Endeavour to meet the financial targets for the Trusts and Companies under management.
  • May produce sets of accounts.
  • Ensure that all fees are billed and collected on a timely basis.
Human Resource Supervision
  • Provide on the job training and assistance to more junior staff.
  • Contribute to overall effectiveness of department by interaction/communication with colleagues.
  • Carry out appraisals for more junior staff for whom responsible.
  • Identify training requirements for more junior members of staff
SKILLS

  • Preferably hold an internationally recognised professional qualification, ideally an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Associate of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, Chartered Association of Certified or Chartered Accountants or Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
  • Generally have at least 6 years experience in Trust and Company administration
  • Possess organisational/prioritisation skills
  • Possess good interpersonal skills to allow for a good relationship with clients and colleagues.
  • As a result of study and experience possess a sound knowledge of Trust Administration, Jersey Company Law and the tax ramifications of various structures.
  • Prepare and review sets of accounts.
